Today, there are 37 DAYS before the Encounter Grand Opening on 10-10-10. We are asking you to join us in what God is doing and is going to do in these last 40 days.

Pray with us. Act with us. Imagine the impact we could have in Helena if each one of us is individually involved in making Helena a better place. Imagine the lives that could be touched. Imagine how the spiritual landscape of our community could be changed even BEFORE the grand opening.

A Burning In Our Heart

This extended weekend, we are looking at Jeremiah 20:9 ...

But if I say I'll never mention the Lord or speak in his name, his word burns in my heart like a fire. It's like a fire in my bones! I am worn out trying to hold it in! I can't do it!

We each have a fire burning within us. God placed human desires and passions at the center of our being. And as Erwin McManus says "This is just as true in the area of sin as it is in the area of holiness." God wants to stir your soul. He wants you to long for the things He longs for. He wants your heart to break for the things His heart breaks for.

We cannot stay silent to the fire He's placed within us.

EXTENDED WEEKEND PRAYER

Search your heart in prayer. Examine your passions and desires, and ask God to help you identify which are from His voice. Perhaps you love music or art. Perhaps sports is your thing. How can Jesus reveal Himself to others through these passions? As we enter this Labor Day weekend, take some time to pray and meditate on the fire that God has placed in your bones.

EXTENDED WEEKEND IMPACT

Whatever plans you may have to enjoy family, friends, or God's wonderful creation, find some time each day to hear the heart of God. Consider seriously how your passions and gifts could help Encounter Church change the spiritual landscape of Helena. Be sure to write down some practical ways of reaching out to others in your sphere of influence. We will examine these in days to come.
